Introduce us to Miasun

Born from a success story, Miasun has already conquered the beaches of France, Hong Kong, Cape Town, Los Angeles, Sydney, and Tokyo.

The idea of creating a retractable aluminum parasol, ultra-light (1.2kg), with a 100% cotton canopy, came from two friends, Hortense and Valériane. During a trip to Australia, they realized how cumbersome it was to carry a parasol and how difficult it was to find an aesthetically pleasing one. They decided to take on the challenge and modernize the parasol. Ultra-light and compact, Miasun fits easily into a bag, and its setup and folding are quick and simple. They chose to offer high-quality products made in France—a point of pride for the brand, which manufactures its products in the founders' hometown of Annecy, with an ecological and sustainable vision.

How did the collaboration with GILI'S begin?

We immediately clicked with Clarisse and Aymeric when we met them. Both of our products were inspired by trips to Indonesia, we share the same universe, and we instantly chose the Azulejos pattern to create a special canopy. Since then, the Miasun x GILI'S collection has been a huge success and will even be featured on Capital this summer!

Tell us about your most memorable travel experience!

Hawaii this past winter, where we went to shoot our latest collection. Some Hawaiian friends were looking for shade and were completely amazed when we pulled Miasun out of our bag and created such a large shaded area. The setting was incredible and wild, and we ended up spending the entire afternoon on the beach.

If you had to travel this summer, what would be your dream destination?

In the summer, Miasun finds its home in the Mediterranean. There's nothing more beautiful than Corsica, the Greek Islands, or Menorca, which we hope to discover this year.
