Getaway in Morocco

Getaway in Morocco

Destination Morocco for Summer 2019!

GILI'S takes you on another journey, directly under the heat of Morocco.

The primary colors of the Jardin Majorelle, the geometric patterns of the mosaics adorning the walls, and the scents of spices filling the streets were all part of the inspiration for our new capsule collection.

The Majorelle Garden

The Majorelle Garden, located in Marrakech, was purchased in 1980 by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berger, who had fallen in love with the place for many years. They saved this heritage site, which was about to be transformed into a hotel complex.

This lush garden was designed by Jacques Majorelle, an artist and botany enthusiast, who wanted to create "a cathedral of shapes and colors," "an impressionist garden," bringing plants from all five continents. The walk is centered around the Moorish architecture of the artist’s studio, unveiling vibrant colors such as "Majorelle blue" and yellow, along with fountains and water paths to refresh visitors.

GILI'S couldn’t miss out on these vibrant colors to create one of our iconic patterns! Here is our interpretation of it.

Taghazout

Located in the south of Morocco, Taghazout is a small fishing village where life is good. Known as one of the best surf spots on the coast, we made a stop here to recharge.

We recommend the Villa Amouage offered by "Surf Morocco," where you can relax in a beautiful villa facing the ocean, and take surf and yoga lessons.

Meknes

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Meknes is part of the Imperial Cities route of Morocco. Founded in the 7th century, the city is surrounded by ramparts and monumental historic gates. Its architecture has been inherited from Morocco’s greatest dynasties.
